Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Huntington Police Department continues investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009. Several neighbors indicated that speed may have contributed to the collision, which, they said, resulted in a red SUV flipping several times.
A passenger in that SUV perished at the intersection of W. 14th Street and Monroe Avenue, near the West Huntington Cabell County Library. A driver has been taken to the hospital. No word on the occupants of the black truck.
Several Huntington Fire Department engines surrounded the red vehicle which had a tarpaulin draped over it. A tire, apparently from the red SUV, rested in a nearby yard. The Fire Department turned the scene over to the Huntington Police investigations unit.
Lt. Zimmerman, who is also a member of the H.P.D. Swat team, indicated no official information would be released Friday. Other officers watched the accident scene as officers took pictures and measurements.
