Seasonal Flu Vaccine Shot Clinics Announced

 Huntington, WV (HNN) - Cabell-Huntington Health Department has scheduled outreach seasonal flu shot clinics for high risk individuals who live or work in Cabell County or the City of Huntington.

High risk individuals include:

  • All children 6 months to 18 years of age
  • Adults 50+ years of age
  • Women who will be pregnant during flu season
  • Health care professionals
  • Adults and children with high risk conditions such as; immune disorders, asthma, chronic lung diseases and cardiovascular diseases (this does not include hypertension)
  • Adults and children with neurological deficits that produce an increased risk of aspiration
  • Household members and caregivers of any of the above listed groups

No appointment is necessary for these free clinics. Please bring your Medicare Card if you are enrolled. Every effort will be made to accommodate all individuals in the family, so that attendance at multiple clinics is not necessary.

Information pertaining to future clinics will be publicized on this website, in the media, and on our flu information hotline, 304-526-3397.



Those receiving the seasonal flu shot are asked to sign the following: “I have been given a copy and have read or have had explained to me the information sheet about Influenza Virus Vaccine 20092010 dated 8/11/09 or Live, Intranasal Influenza Vaccine dated 8/11/09 and/or Pneumococcal Vaccine dated 4/16/09. I have had a chance to ask questions that were answered to my satisfaction. I believe I understand the benefits and risks of the vaccine and request that this be given to me or to the person named above for whom I am authorized to make this request.”



Vaccine for H1N1 or Swine Flu is not expected to be available until late October. As information becomes available, this website, the media, and the flu information hotline will be updated.
