Census Estimates: Cabell County Population Increases

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The U.S. Department of the Census has released estimated population totals for the Ashland/Huntington metropolitan area, which show Cabell County with an estimated population of 94,631. Boyd County, Kentucky has 48,560 people, Greenup County, Ky., has an estimated 37,388; Lawrence County , Ohio has 62,573 and Wayne County, WV has 41,082.
This brings the Huntington/Ashland MSA to approximately 284,234 residents for the 2006-2008 estimates.
The released population estimates July 1, 2008 for the state’s five most populous cities are: Charleston, 50,511; Huntington, 49,201; Morgantown, 26,306; Parkersburg, 29,614, and Wheeling, 29,232.
Between 2007 and 2008, Cabell County grew by an estimated 221 inhabitants (94,631 vs. 94, 410).
By comparison, Kanawha County lost 162 residents (191,018 v. 191,180).
