South Point Veteran's Memorial Dedication Slated for Sunday
Special to Huntingtonnews.net
Boy Scout Troop 115 would like to extend an invitation to the community to attend a dedication ceremony for the South Point, Ohio Veteran's Memorial on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Founded as an organization to teach young men crucial skills in life, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) was also founded on the principle of giving back to their communities.
In order to better serve our community, the B.S.A. has created the South Point Veteran’s Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans, both living and dead.
With this monument dedication, our wish is to recognize the veterans of South Point and the entire Tri-State Area. This program will serve as the introduction of the Memorial to the community.
The 10 foot tall entire black granite monument has been installed with flag poles erected on each side of the monument. Also, it is the utmost hope of the troop to be able to bring the community together, recognizing the great achievements of veterans past and present.
Boy Scout Troop 115 invites the community to attend this special event at the South Point Boat Ramp located on 2nd Street West, South Point, Ohio, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Seating is not available, so please bring your own seating if you desire.
