Logan, WV (HNN) -- Logan County's public libraries, the Logan County Commission, and local writer Michael Knost will be hosting a Logan County Mini-Book Fair next week, that is open to the public.

The event is scheduled over a three-day period: this Mon., Nov. 16th, at Buffalo Creek Memorial Library, from 10 a.m. to 12-noon; Tues., Nov. 17, at Logan Public Library, from 10 a.m. to 12-noon; and Wed., Nov. 18th, Chapmanville Public Library, from 10 a.m. to 12-noon

According to event planners, several writers and authors will be attending each of the libraries, and will feature many of their published works and other works, including Appalachian-based titles such as Legends of the Mountain State series, Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Unexplained Phenomena, Writers Workshop, Appalachian Winter Hauntings, The Secret Life and Brutal Death of Mamie Thurman, The Feuding Hatfields and McCoys, and others.

According to Michael Knost, coordinator for the event, besides book-signings and author readings, there will be a writer and publisher panel at each location. "We want to use this event to encourage local writers, as well as appeal to book-lovers of all ages. Come see some of the fine book titles that are now being published here in the Mountain State," he said. "We are also inviting students within the county's borders to stop by and meet with us. We want to encourage the literary arts here in Logan."

Members of Woodland Press, a Chapmanville independent book publisher, will also be attending each of the scheduled events and will be displaying many of their book titles. The public is invited to attend these three scheduled events.
