Huntington (HNN) – In this age when it seems like half the rock world has someone in a band that is a "former member" of another successful project, not all of them try to use that in their favor. All The Remains vocalist Philip Labonte, is proving just that – he is not like the rest.

Labonte was once part of Century Media Recording artist Shadows Fall, but parted with the band after their 1998 debut album was released. The hard-working singer then turned all attention to his side project and is not looking back.

That side project, which has now come to be known as All That Remains, is gaining more attention than ever in the rock music scene. Their second album, "This Darkened Heart," which hit shelves just over a year ago is selling well and multiple tours have came their way as a result.

Right now the band is on the road with Ozzfest 2005 act As I Lay Dying and Ozzfest 2004 act Throwdown and will be coming through the Tri-State this Saturday. The Prosthetic Records artist will take to the stage at Huntington's only all age rock music venue HYAMP.

HNN will be talking with the show's headliner on Tuesday evening, April 12, and you will be able to listen to the full length phone interview in Wednesday's edition of HNN.

Once All That Remains wraps up their tour with As I Lay Dying and Throwdown they will be hitting the road with what could be the largest line-up of underground bands ever to tour together. The Sounds of the Underground Tour will trek across America this summer featuring Clutch, Chimiara, Gwar and 17 other top rated underground bands.

The tour will no doubt bring the band some of the best attention they've ever received, but the internet community is already starting to jump on the bandwagon early. It was announced last week that online company Yahoo picked All That Remains to be one of the 4 bands that will compete in their monthly "Who's Next?" contest.

Each month Yahoo gives fans a chance to vote for one of four bands, with the winner scoring an exclusive performance that is streamed online along with an interview. All That Remains is competing this month with Relient K, Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Regina Spektor.

All the success the band has had so far has come from hard work and pursuing what they believe in. Joined by Oli Hebert (Guitar), Matt Deis (Bass), Mike Bartlett (Drums) and Mike Martin (Guitar), Labonte is ready to show the world just how big All That Remains can be.

"We are pretty happy with what we have done so far, but we still have so far to go," said Labonte. "There are so many things that we all dreamed about when we were kids and started playing this music. The way heavy music is going now a lot of them can be achieved. So to get a record deal was a dream come true, to be able to put out more than one disc is a dream come true...We have gotten further than most bands who start out in the garage or the basement. But we haven't done anything close to what we believe we can achieve."

The band will get the exposure needed to reach those goals this summer as they tour the U.S. and Canada, but first Huntington will get a taste of All That Remains this Saturday night.

The show will take place at HYAMP, located at 2001R 7th Avenue in Huntington and has no age restrictions. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for $10 or you can pay $12 at the door.
