RECALLS: Ceiling Fan Blades Can Break, Causing Blade to Detach

Emerson Electric Co. is recalling Emerson 60-inch Designer Ceiling Fans
sold
nationwide from May 2005 to September 2006. The brackets holding the
fan
blades can break, causing the blade to detach. Falling pieces can hit
and
injure bystanders.
The recall involves the “Emerson Designer 60-inch Ceiling Fan.” The
recalled
fans have a 60-inch diameter and come in seven types of finishes. The
following model numbers are included in the recall and can be found on
the
base of the fan.

BABY RATTLES POSE CHOKING HAZARD
K’NEX Industries Inc. is recalling BRIO Bell Rattles sold nationwide
from
February 2005 to April 2006. The small bell positioned between the wood
slats can break and allow access to small parts. This poses a choking
hazard.
This recall involves wooden rattles with six-multi-colored slats used
to
connect the two, red round ends. A metal bell is contained within the
slats.
The name BRIO appears on one of the wooden sides.

SNAPS ON CHILDREN’S BOOTS POSE CHOKING HAZARD
See Kai Run is recalling “See Kai Run” Brand Children’s Boots sold
nationwide from November 2004 to November 2006. Metals snaps on the
side
closure of the boot can detach, posing a choking hazard.
This recall involves the “Ellis” children’s boot sold in pre-walk and
toddler sizes 3 through 9. “See Kai Run” is written on the sole and
insole
of the boots. . “Ellis – FF” or “Ellis – L” is written on the side of
the
shoebox under the Style heading. No other styles or models are included
in
this recall.
Consumers should return the boots to the store where purchased.
Consumers
will receive a refund or replacement pair of shoes.

“POWERPUFF” GIRLS’ NECKLACES CONTAIN LEAD
Rhode Island Novelty is recalling Children’s Powerpuff Girls necklaces
sold
nationwide from March 2003 to November 2006. The recalled jewelry
contains
high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and
can
cause adverse health effects.
The recalled necklaces are multi-colored metal pendants that hang from
a
black cord. The pendants are in the shape of the head of one of three
“Powerpuff Girls” cartoon characters. The packaging consists of purple
cardboard with the three Powerpuff Girls cartoon characters and the
words
“CARTOON NETWORK” and “THE POWERPUFF GIRLS” printed on both sides.
Consumers should return the recalled jewelry to the store where
purchased

BATTERIES FOR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS CAN OVERHEAT
Clarion Corporations is recalling Batteries in Clarion N.I.C.E. P200
Navigation and Entertainment Systems sold nationwide from May 2006 to
December 2006. The lithium-ion batteries in these units can melt or
overheat
posing burn and fire hazards.
The N.I.C.E. P200 is a black portable navigation and entertainment
device
that can be attached to a vehicle’s windshield. The device has a 4-inch
touch screen LCD monitor and contains one lithium battery. “Clarion”
and
“N.I.C.E. P200” are printed on the device. “Clarion NAVBATTERY,”
“Rechargeable Li-Polymer Battery,” and “Made in Korea” are printed on
the
battery. Only N.I.C.E. P200 units with serial numbers ending in “UE” or
“UF”
are affected by this recall.

Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is recalling Hobby Lobby Christmas Light Sets

nationwide from June 2006 to December 2006. The lights have undersized
wires
which can separate from the plugs and/or the light sockets, posing an
electric shock and fire hazard to consumers.

CHRISTMAS BEAGLES SOLD BY WAL-MART POSE CHOKING HAZARD
Wal-Mart Stores is recalling Holiday Time™ Stuffed Christmas Beagles
sold at
Wal-Mart stores nationwide from September 2006 to December 2006. The
red
pompoms on the wreath attached to the beagle’s mouth could detach,
posing a
choking hazard .
The stuffed animal is a brown and white beagle with a red scarf and
Santa
hat trimmed in red and white stripes. A green wreath with red pompoms
is
attached near the beagle’s mouth. “Marketed by WAL-MART STORES, INC”
and UPC
number “8 85271 90780 3” are printed on the dog’s sewn-in labels.
“Holiday
Time™” is printed on the animal’s hang tag.
Consumers should return the stuffed animal to the nearest Wal-Mart
store for
a full refund.
