Funeral Arrangements Thursday, Friday for Huntington Band Director Bob Tweel

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- Legendary high school band director Robert (Bob) Ellis Tweel passed away at Naples Community Hospital in Florida on May 1, 2009. He was 76.
The former band director at East high School was known for producing a variety of show performances during the football season. He was an inspiration to many high school students.
Tweel was selected as the first band director of the new Huntington High School when East High School and Huntington High consolidated in 1996. Tweel accumulated 38 years of teaching experience before retiring in 1998.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday May 7, at Beard Mortuary in Huntington, WV. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday May 8, at Highlawn Presbyterian Church in Huntington. Contributions may be made to Highlawn Presbyterian Church.
