Charleston, WV - Chairman Doug McKinney announced today that he has appointed Troy Berman as Executive Director of the West Virginia Republican Party effective September 1, 2009. Troy Berman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, having successfully managed and consulted for Republican Party campaigns and committees in half a dozen different states.
Troy Berman joins the WV GOP with extensive experience in political strategy, campaign and tactics gained from his work for the Ohio GOP and RNC in 2004, the Maryland House GOP in 2005 and the New York Senate GOP in 2006. Most recently Troy managed campaigns for state senate and U.S. Congress in Pennsylvania and Texas.
"Troy Berman is an outstanding political talent, selected after an exhaustive review by our search committee and in consultation with Republican Party stakeholders throughout West Virginia," said McKinney. "He has an impressive record of victory in places where Republicans are simply outnumbered and outgunned. Our goal was to find someone who can help guide the West Virginia Republican Party's efforts as we seek to transition from minority party to majority party status, and in Troy I think we have found that leader."
