Ramey/Peana Ticket for West Virginia GOP Executive Committee
By Huntingtonnews.net Staff
Wayne County, WV (HNN) — Gordon Ramey of Westmoreland and Lisa Peana of Ceredo have sent their filing documents to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office to file and run as a team for the 5th Senatorial District Republican Executive Committee.
Ramey and Peana are no strangers to state politics. Ramey has served as the Chief of Police in Huntington and was the 2008 Republican nominee and ran for Sherriff of Wayne County, and in 2004 was the Republican nominee and ran for Mayor of Huntington.
“This is just another way to get involved in the political process, and to help build the Republican Party in West Virginia,” Ramey said.
Peana is currently the Executive Director and National Committeewoman for the West Virginia Young Republicans. She also was the 2006 and 2008 Republican Nominee for the WV House of Delegates District 17, Wayne County.
“This is such an important election year. I look forward to working with the party and helping our candidates win elections,” Peana said.
Ramey and Peana will both appear on the Republican Primary ballots in May. Each Senatorial District elects a male and female representative to serve on the State Executive Committee.
