Wayne Softball Squad Defeats Ironton Tigers 3-1

Wayne (HNN) — The Wayne Pioneers won the battle with the Ironton Tigers in a high school softball game winning 3-1 at Pioneer Field on a chilly Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2005.
Both teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of the first inning. In the bottom of the sixth, Wayne broke the tie scoring two runs and then played excellent defense in the top of the seventh holding off the threat of base runners from scoring to win the game.
With the win Wayne is 4-17 and Ironton is 7-9.
