RPA Memorial Basketball Tourney Runs Through Sunday

Huntington, WV (HNN) –The RPA Memorial Basketball Tournament opened Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Spring Valley Courts with lots of talented basketball players playing in the three–on–three tournament.

The tournament is named in memory of local basketball player Ronnie P. Angelo who loved playing the game.
The tournament started in 1986 with eight teams. The tournament today has 30 teams hoping to get to the finals in three divisions that are scheduled for Sunday, July 17, 2005. Many former college and high school athletes participate in the event.
The six foot and under championship will be played at 4:30 p.m., followed by the B Division Championship at 5 p.m. and the A Division Championship at 5:30 p.m.
A special "Family Night," will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. There will be a jumpoline, a dunking booth, clowns and treats.
