Spring Valley Country Club Hosts Eric Sparks Golf Event

Huntington, WV (HNN)-- Spring Valley Country Club hosted the golfing portion of the Eric Sparks Memorial Golf Outing on Saturday, July 23, 2005. The annual golf outing is held in the memory of former Ceredo-Kenova graduate and multi-sport standout Eric Sparks, who graduated in May of 1995 and died July 27, 1997 in Kenova.
 
The shotgun start, best-ball outing boasted over 150 entrants, who were treated to the first sunny and hot day in recent memory. Buddy's Barbecue of Huntington catered the player's lunch.
 
The fundraising event was kicked off with a dinner at Spring Valley High School on Friday, July 22, 2005, catered by Rocco's Restaurant of Ceredo. New Marshall University head football coach Mark Snyder spoke at the event, as did former C-K head football coach Carl Ward. All proceeds from the event benefit C-K Youth Sports.
