To get to the nature trail, turn left off Route 2 (going north) before reaching the Jenkins home. A nicely constructed walking path leads through the woods, over a bridge and to an observation deck that renders a nice view of the swamp and the historic home of General Albert Gallatin Jenkins.

Birds like geese, herons, killdeer and blackbirds can be seen on this trail. The flowers were blooming in the swamp adding a nice summer look. Sounds of animals are ever present.
