Grant for $52,000 Secured for Region II Planning, Development Council

Washington, DC (HNN) - U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) announced Tuesday, July 19, 2005 a new grant for the Region II Planning and Development Council in Cabell County, West Virginia. The grant of $52,000 from the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) will be used to support regional long-term economic development planning efforts.
 
"The Economic Development Administration continues to help the communities of southern West Virginia with vital projects," said Rahall. "By investing this money in our area to support economic development projects, this grant will help residents and small businesses of southern West Virginia."
 
Rahall is a strong supporter of the Region II Planning and Development Council and Rahall went on to say, "The Region II Planning and Development Council Executive Director Michele Craig has proven her dedication to improving economic development throughout Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mingo and Wayne counties and I commend her and her staff for their service."
 
"We in southern West Virginia appreciate the help of programs like the Economic Development Administration, USDA Rural Development fund and the Appalachian Regional Commission. All of these are a huge help to our communities," Rahall said.
