Timberline Resort Slates Frontier Weekend Featuring Old West Themed Trail Rides

Davis, WV (HNN)- Bring the family and go back in time to 1850 for a weekend in the Old West - Old West Virginia, that is. On Aug. 5 and 6, 2005 the annual Frontier Weekend at Timberline Four Seasons Resort commemorates the pioneering spirit of that period which persists in West Virginia until the present time.
 
Visit an authentic cow camp and chuck wagon complete with all appropriate gear. Witness a live shoot out on horse back just behind the Timberline Ski Lodge. Hear old Western music, primitive mountain music and old folk music and an evening with square dancing. The public is invited and there is no charge for admission to the resort. The performances are also free of charge.
 
Trail rides with pack lunch will depart Saturday morning, Aug. 6 from the BC Wilderness Stables at Timberline, located at the foot of Herz Mountain (base altitude 3,200 feet) and ascend to the top of the Allegheny Mountain, elevation 4,263 feet. The riders will return to Timberline lodge for an evening of music, food and drink. High altitude scenic lift rides are available Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
 
Complete weekend packages are available which include all activities and also includes food and lodging. Reservations are suggested for the trail ride and weekend packages.
