Gasoline in the Huntington area ranged from a low of $2.26 a gallon at an Exxon station to $2.39 at most Speedway, Marathon and BP stations. It was $2.37 a gallon at the Rich Oil station across from Camden Park in Huntington, up from last week’s $2.18. Among the higher prices in the state were $2.45 a gallon at the Exxon station in Flatwoods, $2.44 at the Ripley Exxon and $2.41 at the Buckhannon Exxon. About midway between Huntington and Charleston, gasoline prices in Winfield were $2.39 a gallon at TA Travel Center, Exxon and Go-Mart.

Bargain gas – or what passes for it these days – disappeared in the Charleston area on March 5, where places like the Go-Mart in Cross Lanes – which was selling regular last week for $2.20 a gallon – were up to $2.35 a gallon on March 5 for most Go-Marts. The lowest price, according to http://www.charlestongasprices.com was $2.29 a gallon at the Pride Oil station in Spring Hill. Most other Charleston stations – BP, Chevron, Kroger and Pennzoil -- had a price of $2.35 a gallon for regular.
