GASOLINE SURVEY
Prices Drop Again Throughout Mountain State

Hinton, WV (HNN) – Gasoline prices in Hinton declined to $2.29 a gallon on
Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, down a dime from last week’s $2.39 a gallon, at
Chevron Foodmart in Avis, the nearby Go Mart, as well as the Exxon and Cargo
stations.
Statewide, the lowest observed price on Sept. 24, 2006 was $2.07 a gallon at
Shell in Fairlea, compared with last week’s statewide low of $2.19 a gallon
at Smith Mart in Moundsville, according to
http://www.westvirginiagasprices.com. In Lewisburg, regular was $2.09 at the
Go Mart on Rt. 219. Regular was $2.11 a gallon at Sam’s Club in Vienna on
Sept. 24. It was $2.12 at Chevron, BP, 7-11 and most other stations in
Parkersburg. The lowest observed Huntington price on Sept. 24 was $2.23 at
Sunoco, down from last week’s $2.31 at Speedway and Exxon. Most other
stations in Huntington ranged from $2.23 to $2.29 a gallon, including Exxon,
BP, Speedway and Go-Mart. In Morgantown, gas was $2.42 at BP, the same as
last week’s price point at most stations. The $2.42 price point prevailed in
Elkins at Exxon. In Charles Town, regular was $2.39 at Sheetz and Martin’s.
In Princeton, regular on Sept. 24 was $2.23 at Blueflash and $2.25 at Exxon.
Kroger in Clarksburg had regular at $2.23; it was $2.24 at Rich Oil and
$2.29 at Exxon in Clarksburg.
In the Charleston area, the lowest observed price was $2.23 at BP in
Hurricane, down from $2.29 on Sept. 16, 2006, according to
http://www.charlestongasprices.com. The $2.23 price was observed at Pilot in
Nitro, Kroger in Cross Lanes and most other outlying stations in the
Charleston metro area on Sept. 24. The Citgo station in Charleston was
charging $2.36 on Sept. 24. It was $2.31 at the Marathon station in Kanawha
City and the same price at Chevron in Charleston.
