No. 53 Marshall Tennis at Clemson for NCAA Indoor Team Nationals

Four ranked teams in Clemson for battle

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 53 Marshall University tennis team heads to Clemson for the first rounds of the NCAA Indoor Team Nationals this Saturday and Sunday at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center.

The four-team tournament features teams who are all nationally-ranked. Joining the Thundering Herd is No. 10 Clemson, No. 19 Vanderbilt and No. 61 Dartmouth.

MU (4-0) takes the courts on Saturday at 9 a.m. for a match with Vanderbilt (1-0). The winner of this match will take on the winner of the Clemson vs. Dartmouth match on Sunday with the right to play in the 16-team main draw on the line. The two losing sides will meet up in Sunday’s first match.

The Commodores head into the weekend after jumping seven spots in the ITA rankings for knocking off then No. 9 Northwestern. Vanderbilt’s top five singles players are all nationally ranked.

Clemson (3-0) is paired with Dartmouth (1-0) in Saturday’s second match. The Tiger’s Josipa Bek is the 12th ranked player in the nation, while she and teammate Keri Wong are ranked second in the nation for doubles. Dartmouth’s top singles player, Molly Scott, has a national ranking of 94.
