Hollywood Reporter weote, "The Night House makes her a compelling variation on the usual woman in ghostly peril. David Bruckner’s supernatural horror about the mysteries she uncovers after her husband’s suicide has stylish craftsmanship, good performances, a nerve-rattling soundscape and some of the most terrifyingly assaultive audio jump scares in recent memory. All that makes it highly watchable, even if the occult elements of Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski’s screenplay, about decoys and deceptions deployed against malevolent possession, don’t quite come together in a satisfying resolution."
A viewer beamed, "Much scarier than most mainstream horror movies. A couple sequences literally made my hair stand on end! An intriguing plot with a conclusion I did not expect. Check it out in theaters, great to see with a crowd."

The noted, "Much of the credit goes to writer-director Cal Brunker (“The Nut Job 2”) and co-writers Billy Frolick (“Madagascar”) and Bob Barlen (“Arctic Dogs”), who have seamlessly created a movie world where you believe 10-year-olds can run around with their dogs (who, yes, can talk to humans) and save the city from political corruption. Yes, political corruption, but that’s not the only heavy theme peppered throughout the film: There are also messages about caring for your environment, unpacking trauma, owning your fear and way more complex storylines that contribute to the vivid animated world presented."

Film Threat wrote: If you’re tired of the over-the-top stunts from the Fast and the Furious franchise, The Protégé is the perfect alternative. The action beats are much more grounded and almost entirely devoid of CG “fix it in post” nonsense. Instead, we get several fun car and bike chases through the streets of Saigon, wonderfully choreographed hand-to-hand knife and gunfights, and it all ends with a nice explosion. In addition, there’s an apartment fight scene that is absolutely jaw-dropping and the most memorable moment of the film.

Jacob Author wrote in Paste : As pleasurable as some of the film’s elements are—Jackman and Ferguson’s romantic chemistry is tantalizing and Joy rightly stages their first sex scene as a horny frenzy—the reflexive nature of its subject matter can wear thin. An escape into familiarity for its characters, an escape into throwback conventions for us. Yet, even returning to well-worn concepts doesn’t always work as it should. Joy’s intriguing world-building clashes with noir voiceover that replaces the genre’s world-weary cleverness with world-explaining exposition.

Free Guy takes the time to create something unique and grounded and make us care about the future of these NPCs. With every reason in the world to fail, Free Guy succeeds. It’s a welcome reminder that sincerity can still play as the basis for a Hollywood blockbuster.

The Wrap said, “The Suicide Squad” is by no means perfect, but like the “Deadpool” movies, it’s a showcase for what can happen when a superhero movie is allowed to be sprightly, self-aware, and sardonic while also indulging in hard-R violence, gore, and language.
