There were so many bowls in different colors and design the choice could be difficult. From there the bowl is filled with soup. A patron could eat in the church or get the food for take out.
There was also a silent auction where bids were made on various items. Empty Bowls T-shirts also were for sale for $20.00. About 12:30 PM lines were long to dine inside and to the take out. There were concerns if there was going to be enough food. Many people were busy in the kitchens preparing the food going back and forth in a hurried way trying to supply the lines of people. Server Keith Wellman noticed they were serving the last piece of bread shortly before 1 PM. Fortunately more bread arrived in time for the rest of the day.
Several volunteers and restaurants contributed to make the project successful. The project benefits the Huntington Area Food Bank that serves food to many that are having difficult times in affording food.
