The umbrellas went up with an afternoon rain and some went for shelter and did not return on the cool April day.
Certainly one of the highlights of the day was the return of Marshall NFL players Doug Legursky, Chris Massey, Albert McCellan, C.J. Spillman, Ahmad Bradshaw, Daniel Baldridge, Chris Crocker, Mario Harvey and Chad Pennington. The players were honored Friday night at the Big Green Banquet.
On Saturday before the Green-White game many of the NFL players were signing autographs and having photos taken with their fans. Former Marshall quarterback Reggie Oliver that was in the "We Are Marshall," movie joined them.
The green players were made up of offensive players and the white team was made up of defensive players. Certainly the game may have given a glimpse of what the 2012 season may be like.
Chad Pennington found himself busy signing autographs posing for pictures and talking with the news media. Pennington was seen giving encouragement to the football players on the field like Marshall's quarterback Rakeem Cato.
