Devotion: From Day One in Prayer

Devotion: From Day One in Prayer

In my NYC experience....the streaming crowds... loud and congested streets... blaring music... and endless distractions,  implementing prayer was easier than using cell phones.
Maybe it's my age and inability to understand or adjust to the ever changing technology of communication, but being in a constant flow of thought and action with the Master of all is the most freeing implement on earth. Praise God.  Thank you, Lord. Forgive me. We need help. Adoration, thanksgiving, confession and supplication are part of every moment of our lives and nothing mechanical can separate .... God with us... the ceaseless strength and love provided even when our conscious knowledge is oblivious.
"God's there, listening for all who pray."
Homeless folks were sitting in most of the available spots when we sought to rest awhile in Grand Central Station. The cost of transportation for just a few miles in NYC is astonishing. People of every language and life style gather in the Big Apple and walk side by side. Every possible avenue of entertainment and acquisition is highly promoted... most every hour of every day. Within a few hours one can glean insight and appreciation for the magnificent history and ability of people and places one never imagined.
Seeing the incredible gifts bestowed on people... in times of glory... agony... prosperity... devastation...elegance... ugliness... health... disease... invention... destruction is perplexing. A myriad of information and performance brings one to the height of stipulation that... NO, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE in the realm of God's omnific power which was and is and always will be!
"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. The Spirit does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. The Spirit knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."
O God... You are everywhere.. and nothing can separate us from Your love.  Help me breathe in your Spirit in constant readiness that there is no place on earth... no situation too baffling... no hurt too deep that cannot be restored by Your grace and love... even if it takes a lifetime.  Help me rejoice in the good and give thanks for the Life-Light that permeates my world... with every sunrise.  Empower my faith from day one... in prayer.
