Tired as we all may be by the prospect of another special election, thanks to Joe Manchin vacating the premises early, no elected office has greater significance to West Virginians than that of Governor. The State Supreme Court is expected to decide whether the WV Constitution requires a special election in the next couple of weeks. Chances are, it will kick the date for such a special election back to the legislature.

For someone who has never experienced the glitter of Time Square, the first glance is awesome. Over sized pictures and exaggerated lights blink and shine almost as high as one can see. Life is depicted in various activities with mind boggling movement and vivid color. One is almost compelled to pause... in wonder.

We all have made New Year’s resolutions. Last year I wrote a different column about them in which I included both my own New Year’s resolutions and some wishes for others, the world, and myself. This year, rather than repeat another set of resolutions and wishes, I’m going to do a baseball scorecard, based on the results from last year. And, like last year, there will be no particular order, though unlike last year, I will have a score at the end.
